Heather Glenny: Biography
Heather has been interested in drawing and painting since early childhood but finally joined some adult education evening classes around 1978 to gain experience and tuition in flower painting. She also had lessons privately with a well-known artist in the Cranleigh area. Heather gained further knowledge and skills by completing a John Blockley landscape watercolour course during the 1980’s.
Around this time she successfully sold many of her paintings locally, but during the next ten years Heather had tough family and work commitments, so art was put ‘on hold’ although she was able to complete a course for teaching adults and subsequently taught beginners art classes for a few years.
Since retiring to Sussex in 2004, she has been developing her art by attending additional art classes and experimenting with different media. In the last decade she has completed both botanical and wildlife classes and landscape workshops tutored by well known professional artists.
